Map/Directions

Chester Washington Golf Course is an excellent place to find not only cheap golf in Los Angeles, but is also a great place to enjoy tree lined fairways, and delicately breaking greens. The course plays to a Par 70, and is 6,273 yards from the back tees, with a slope of 117. It is centrally located in downtown Los Angeles, only minutes from L.A. International Airport, which makes it perfect when looking for Los Angeles tee times. Chester Washington Golf Course was originally called Western Avenue Golf Course, and opened in 1927. The name was changed in 1982 in order to honor the late Chester L. Washington, who was a journalist, newspaper publisher, and newspaper editor, including editor in chief at the L.A. Sentinel, and the course was one of the first in the country to allow African-Americans to play. Many legendary African-Americans famous in golfing history have played at Chester Washington, including Lee Elder, Charlie Sifford, and Calvin Peete.

Chester Washington Golf Course amenities include a driving range, banquet rooms, and meeting rooms large enough to comfortably seat up to 300 guests, making it an excellent place for weddings, showers, or corporate events. Past guests have said, "The course is challenging and pretty. We were able to golf with carts thrown in for cheap." Chester Washington Golf Course tee times are a great way to escape the crowds and fast paced city life, without having to fight the traffic.
