With the beautiful rolling hills of San Diego's East County as its backdrop, Cottonwood Golf Club is a popular daily fee facility that's been serving golfers since 1962. Designed by O.W. Moorman and A.C. Sears, Cottonwood offers a championship layout that plays to 6,736 yards from the tips. Considered one of the best values in Southern California, the course has four sets of tees, playing as short as 5,154 yards. The course features generous fairways, strategic bunkering and smooth greens. One of the more unusual aspects of this par-72 layout is that both nines end with par 3s. The 18th can be stretched close to 220 yards, and golfers must carry a creek on the way to the green. The water, however, is not in front of the green and really doesn't come into play for more players. The course's no. 1 handicap hole is the 567-yard par-5 eighth, a slight dogleg right that plays through a fairway framed by trees on both sides.? In addition to the golf course, Cottonwood Golf Club also offers a full driving range, two short-game areas, and a practice putting green. The club also offers instruction and has an excellent junior golf program. Inside the clubhouse is a well-stocked golf shop with the latest in golf apparel, accessories and equipment. There's also a restaurant and sports bar in the clubhouse. The Cottonwood Bar & Grill serves breakfast and lunch every day, as well as a selection of draft beers and cocktails.
