Map/Directions

Desert Dunes Golf Club in Desert Hot Springs, CA was the first desert course designed by legendary Robert Trent Jones, Jr. Opened in 1989, the 18-hole par 72 course, with Poa annua and Tifdwarf bermudagrass, has hosted both U.S. Open and PGA Tour qualifying events.

Reviewers praise the beautiful setting and the great pace of play in this Links-style untamed natural desert setting. Its a good idea to practice on the driving range, short-game area and putting green before tackling this challenging course and its water hazards, fast greens, narrow fairways and tricky winds. 6,876 yards from the longest tee, Desert Dunes has a 73.8 course and 142 slope rating. The course boasts strategically placed bunkers, including one that runs down the middle of the double green shared by the 9th and 18th holes.

For cheap golf in Desert Hot Springs, take advantage of Early Bird and Twilight playing times. Juniors (under 15 accompanied by an adult) receive a discount. Desert Dunes Golf Club tee times are available online. Prices include greens fees and a shared cart.

Be aware that golfers arent the only ones to take advantage of Desert Hot Springs tee times. You may have to share the course (temporarily) with coyotes, owls, roadrunners, hawks and perhaps a desert kit fox, the animal on Desert Dunes logo.
