One of Southern California's top public golf courses, Redhawk Golf Club is a challenging and beautiful championship layout known for its flora, natural features, mountain backgrounds, and island green hole. Designed by Ron Fream and Mark O'Meara, the par-72 course plays nearly 7,100 yards from the tips, but there are five sets of tees so everyone can enjoy it. The layout, which opened in 1990, features one gorgeous hole after another. Several of the holes at Redhawk have water features, including the 167-yard, par-3 eighth hole, which has greens complex with two large bunkers and completely surrounded by water. The 534-yard, par-5 18th is another example of a hole where water plays a prominent role, as the green is fronted by a large pond that comes into play on the approach shot. The course also features several elevated tees, rolling fairways, and undulated greens. The no. 1 handicap hole is the 471-yard par-4 fifth, The slight dogleg left has a large waste area that comes into play off the tee. In addition to the course, Redhawk Golf Club has excellent practice facilities, which include a driving range, short-game area and practice putting green. Golf lessons are also available. Inside the clubhouse is a well-stocked golf shop and the Hawk's Landing Restaurant. The dining venue serves breakfast and lunch items that include breakfast burritos, sandwiches, wings, salads and burgers. The club is also open to hosting special events like weddings and receptions, and corporate events.
